2. What Life and Relationship Coaching is NOT:
- NOT therapy or counseling (dealing with past, feelings/emotions based)
- NOT consulting (telling you what to do)
- NOT mentoring (older person passing knowledge/experience to younger person)
3. Roots of Life Coaching:
The foundations of coaching go back many centuries. Improving one’s life, what we would today call “personal development”, traces its roots to Greek society. The Greek philosopher, Socrates, summed it up with his famous quote, “The unexamined life is not worth living.”
4. Why Life Coaching is Important:
A life coach is someone who will listen fully, without judgment, provide unconditional acceptance, provide a larger vision, inspire creativity, expand possibilities and provide a full commitment to you, the client. Perhaps most importantly, life coaches provide a constant reminder that one’s life is a celebration.
